Update on fatty liver: assessment and treatment

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a condition characterised by deposition of fat within the liver and can be associated with progressive inflammation and fibrosis (NASH). Up to 30% of the population may have NAFLD and yet only a small proportion will have progressive disease.
